The Scientific Council promotes research in advertising and marketing ethics. The Council also spreads knowledge about RO 's work to both practitioners and academics. The goal is to increase the exchange of information between academia and industry . The Council operates mainly in three areas: research, information and support to RO's activities.

- Anja Hirdman, professor at the department of media studies (JMK), Stockholm University
- Jacob Österberg, professor of advertising & PR at Stockholm Business School , Stockholm University
- Jesper Falkheimer, professor of strategic communication, Campus Helsingborg, Lund University
